Experimenting with interesting synths and trying my hand at arranging bass lines, this song has conversational, inquistive, and longing lyrics but it's put on top of jumpy instrumentals and a nostalgic, moving melody. When making the melody, I took inspiration from my favorite artist, Daniel Caesar. I wrote this song when I felt like my partner was blaming me excessively for things that I felt were non-issues, as a way to relieve stress and understand my emotions. The song ends with a burst of harmonies, all falling on top of eachother, symbolizing the feelings of anxiety that one may feel when in a relationship.
lyrics
Take a look around this house, I see you standing there
You've been staring at your phone for so long trying to hide the fact that you care
What's going on, what's going on?
I haven't seen you in so long (I haven't seen you in so long)
What's going on?
Baby, please don't blame me
All you do is blame me
Call me names and shame me
Think you love to hate me
Jumping 'round from cloud to cloud, I see what you're trying to do
Chasing the highs of all the serious vices you're in a crisis
What's going on, what's going on?
It hasn't even been that long
Whereabouts is your lover, doesn't she worry about you?
There is something about you, something about you
Baby, please don't blame me
All you do is blame me
Call me names and shame me
Think you love to hate me
