The final song is a direct message to my ex-partner. I'm trying to explain why I made the decisions that I made in the past, and what was wrong with me. I struggle with emotions, especially recognizing which ones I'm feeling and the reasons why. This song is my most vulnerable song, and was a sort of therapy for me to write it and express my feelings through it. The song doesn't end with a tonic chord, giving the feeling of it being on edge or unfinished. I thought it would be fitting to end with a song that I treasure with all my heart, hopefully leaving listeners to think about experiences in their lives where they can also relate.
lyrics
Listen to me, I’m only going to say this once
Come close baby, the second time will be too much
I have a feeling that you already know what I’m going to be saying to you
The disco lights are slowing down
I finally find you in the crowd
Emotions that you think I hide, i’ve been searching through my mind and,
I’m telling you I’ve tried and tried
But I don’t think I’ll ever find them
Try to feel sad and cry, but my eyes they just stay dry, tell me oh tell me why
Won’t you please tell me why?
I feel so numb inside, happy only when high, sad with the help of wine
The disco lights are slowing down
And now i’ve lost you in the crowd
